I think we can all agree that a solid backbone of multiplication facts is imperative when approaching any math curriculum. Students really need to have their facts down so they are able to complete more complex math problems. I also think we can agree that memorizing said facts can be rather mundane for students. Recently, the Homeschool Review Crew has been reviewing Online Times Alive from City Creek Press, Inc. This program makes learning your multiplication facts a lot more fun!
The Times Alive program teaches your child their multiplication facts from 0-9 using cartoons, stories and tricks. It uses mnemonic devices and visual clues to help your child learn their facts through movies, songs, games and progress checks. This program is based on the best selling book, Times Tables The Fun Way Book for Kids.
Parents are able to log into the student record and see each students progress report. In these reports you are able to see: the time, date, scores and lesson completion information. The online program is designed for an unlimited number of students as long as it is on one computer. In order to track the progress, students will need to use the same computer each time. The program works on both Mac or PC.
In addition to the website, there is an app designed for iOS 9 and above. You are able to download this on your iPhone or iPad and your student can practice their facts on their devices as well as the website.
Membership for ONLINE Times Alive $9.95 per month. There is no contract you and you can cancel at any time. There is also a one-time registration fee of $6.95 that is charged at sign-up.
