One of the greatest pleasures I have in life is that of beautiful books. For me, a beautiful book needs to have two things: beautiful words and beautiful illustrations. Life is far too short to have one without the other in the lives of our children. And this includes Christmas books!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Books are my second love. Put the two together—Christmas books!—and you have a marriage made in heaven. Christmas books are some of my favorite books ever, and each December our shelves begin to feel like old friends calling us back again. We look forward to gently pulling down all our special books about the coming Christ, alongside the inspirational stories that lead straight to Him. Over the years we’ve gathered a lovely basket that sits beside our hearth and instantly becomes our Christmas Book Basket. It’s filled with stories of hope, light, wonder, and anticipation—books that help shape our celebrations and remind us why we rejoice during this season.

Christmas Book Traditions
Whether you’re beginning a brand-new tradition or simply searching for books that will draw your family closer this December, may your home be filled with stories that warm the heart and keep Christ at the center of it all.
- Collect 25 picture books, wrap them and place them under your tree. Open one a day and read it together with a family favorite treat.
- Read an advent story together. Some of our favorites are: Jotham’s Journey Series and The Jesse Tree
- Buy a new Christmas book and enjoy it together each year.

When we hand our children books that stir the imagination, lift the heart, and point their eyes toward truth, we’re giving them more than a story—we’re giving them something to carry into adulthood.
