Who was St. Patrick?

Since his death in 461 A.D., the Irish have celebrated the life of Maewyn Succat on what has become known as St. Patrick’s Day. Over time, the holiday has been transformed by the traditions of these other parts of the world to become the celebration of all things Irish. But as you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year, don’t forget to remember Maewyn Succat, the man who brought the Gospel of Jesus to the Irish and became forever known as St. Patrick.
