Roar Like a Lion Devotional for Children

Our children are constantly inundated with information. They are receiving messages from the books they read, the movies they watch, the songs they hear, and the friends in their community. The messages they are receiving are not always so great and can be very confusing. Kids today are wrestling with so much, including peer pressure, unexpected losses or changes, knowing their purpose, and knowing how faith ties into all of it. We only have them for a few years before they launch into the world so let’s give them solid content and a strong Biblical foundation while we have them!

Roar Like a Lion: 90 Devotions to a Courageous Faith devotional for children covers highly relevant topics such as:

  • Facing fears about school and friendships
  • Dealing with peer pressure and bullying
  • Handling new challenges, disappointments, and grief
  • Having courage to try something new
  • Understanding how we each fit into God’s great story

Levi Lusko is the founder and lead pastor of Fresh Life Church. He is the bestselling author of Through the Eyes of a Lion, Swipe Right, and I Declare War. This father of five travels around the world speaking about Jesus. Roar Like a Lion: 90 Days to a Courageous Faith is his first book geared towards children.

This devotional is designed to help children build a habit of reading Biblically-based devotionals. It is also a great way to spark meaningful conversations with children about matters of faith.

Roar Like a Lion Devotional for Children

Roar LIke a Lion devotional for children contains ninety beautifully illustrated devotions. Each devotion contains a Bible verse. Several different Bible translations are used including the New International Version (NIV), The International Children’s Bible (ICB), The English Standard Version (ESV), and the New Century Version (NCV).

Each devotion is on a two-page spread and contains a Bible verse, devotional, prayer, and a “Get Ready to Roar” note encouraging children to respond to what they have just read. In addition to Scripture, Lusko uses real-life examples from figures of history like Harriet Tubman and the Wright Brothers who have made a huge impact on today’s world.

Did you know? In the world, lions roar for three reasons: to let other lions know where they are, to show how powerful they are, and to scare off an enemy. Your life should roar for the same reasons: to let other believers know where you are and that they aren’t alone, to show how powerful God is, and to scare off your enemy, the devil. Because when you roar with the power of God, the devil runs away (James 4:7).

Roar Like a Lion: 90 Days to A Courageous Faith is a hardback book with 192 pages. It is published by Tommy Nelson, an Imprint of Thomas Nelson. This book would work well as a family read-aloud during morning devotions or evening Bible reading. Kids who are more independent readers could use it for their personal devotion. This book is an excellent resource for helping children build a strong Biblical foundation as well as putting faith into action in the world around them.
