Reading skills and especially comprehension skills are very vital skills for kids to master. Teaching reading to children can be challenging sometimes, and even when they do learn how to read, having them actually understand what they are reading can be another challenge. This is where MaxScholar Reading Intervention Program, comes really handy. In the last few weeks, the crew got a chance to review this program and let’s just say, it’s got a lot to offer.
MaxScholar is not just your typical reading program but much more than that. Specifically developed to help students who have Dyslexia, learning disabilities, ADHD, processing problems, or are just struggling to read, Max Scholar is made up of multi-sensory exercises and games that keep your children engaged and learning. It can be used by any child in pre-k up to grade 12. If you need to start with the phonics, they’ve got you covered. You need to teach your child to better understand what they are reading at any particular level, they have you covered. The way they do it is through stories which they have you read and then find the main and secondary ideas, all through a process of highlighting, outlining, and summarizing. This then is followed by comprehension questions.
MaxScholar is also unique in that it offers you options. In their Max Guru online program you receive:
MaxPhonics – where you learn the basics based on the Orton-Gillingham method
MaxReading – where you learn effective reading comprehension strategies based on the Lindamood-Bell process
MaxWords – where you learn about spelling, prefixes, suffixes, Latin and Greek roots
MaxVocab – where you get to play games on new words you are learning
MaxBio – where you can improve your reading skills all the while reading biographies
MaxMusic – where you can learn about song lyrics, and how to play them on the piano
MaxPlaces – where you improve your reading while learning about different places around the world

There are no words to describe how thankful we are to have the Maxscholar Orton-Jillihan software. We tried every program before and my child could not read. In just a short period of time, my child has not only exceled in reading and academically, but his confidence and passion for learning has grown ten fold. As an individual that values education and truly appreciated academia, Maxscholar software is a true gift. We will be life long partners in using this program.
