This article is in collaboration with Memoria Press.
Memoria Press is not only known for their strong Latin curriculum, but also a wide variety of other subjects. Recently, the Homeschool Review Crew was given the opportunity to review a range of Latin courses, as well as two science courses.
The Prima Latina Complete Set is the first step for young students wishing to learn Latin. This set includes both a Student Book and Teacher Manual, Pronunciation CD, Flash Cards, and DVDs. The 25 lessons that form the Prima Latina Complete set are geared toward younger students who are just learning English Grammar and want to move more slowly, or those who wish to begin early to lay a solid grammar foundation.
The Latina Christiana Complete Set is intended to follow Prima Latina, or it can be used as a first time Latin curriculum for students of all ages with no prior Latin background. This set includes a Student Book, Teacher Manual, Pronunciation disk, Flash Cards, and DVDs to cover the 25 lessons plus 5 review lessons.
In addition to Prima Latina and Latina Christiana, reviewers were also given the option to choose one of 3 from the Form Series.
The Second Form Latin Complete Set picks up where First Form left off, and marks the halfway point between the completion of the
Form Series Latin. This set includes a Student Book, Teacher Manual, Student Workbook, Quizzes and Test Book, Teacher Key, Flash Cards, Pronunciation disk, and DVDs.
The Third Form Latin Complete Set covers topics such as -io verbs, vocative case, nine irregular adjectives, objective and partitive genitive, and more. This set includes a Student Book, Student Workbook, Teacher Manual, Quizzes and Test Book, Teacher Key, Flash Cards, Pronunciation disk, and DVDs.
The Fourth Form Latin Complete Set covers topics such as Participles, Defective Verbs, Infinitives, Irregular Verbs, and more. This set also includes a Student Book, Student Workbook, Teacher Manual, Quizzes and Test book, Teacher Key, Flash Cards, Pronunciation disk, and DVDs.
The Crew also had the chance to review two Memoria Press science sets.
The Book of Trees Set (Grades 6-8) teaches students all about plant morphology and taxonomy, as well as chapters that cover flowers and fruits. For this review, crew members received
The Book of Trees, the Student Workbook, and the Teacher Manual.
Nature’s Beautiful Order includes a Student Text, Student Workbook, and Teacher Manual. Over the course of eighteen lessons, students learn about the animal kingdom beginning with invertebrates and continuing through 5 vertebrate classes. They end with learning about Man as the knowing animal to showcase the order of nature.
