Recently, we decided to have a little fun with the Homeschool Crew. So, we decided to host an ad-writing contest. Any Crew members who were interested were welcome to participate by writing an ad about The 2010 Schoolhouse Planner and sharing it on their blog.
Our judges have been reading and scoring these ads all week; now, they’ve narrowed the competition down to the top 16. We’d like YOU, our readers, to help us select your favorite ad. (We have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). So, please click through the links below, read these fun ads, and then leave a comment with the # of your favorite ad . Thanks!
(And, while you’re at it, be sure to click through some of the links and purchase the Schoolhouse Planner for yourself! We’re also running a pre-sale on our soon-to-be-released Student Planners, which you’ll definitely want to check out!)

Number 1 is my fave!
I designed #16, so I can’t vote for myself…but this was fun to work on!
I had scanned one of my grandmother’s antique plates to get the “plate” graphics. Seeing those plates brings back such nice memories of my childhood holiday meals at her home.
Great work, everyone, on the ads!
Julieanne

These all were very good. My vote is for #16. She showed all the different areas in a creative way.
#8 was first and #13 was second for me, although they were all really well done. Good job everyone!
# 8 — no question about it! Knowing how much effort I put into my own simple print ad, I can only imagine how much time and energy went into creating this fun, captivating, and informative ad. It’s definitely a winner, in my opinion:)
i like 9 and 16, though I also like 3 and 5. but of the four of them, 9 and 16 came out on top.
well done everyone.
I like #3, #7, #8 and # 13. Sorry I couldn’t make up my mind but those were the ones that made me want to buy the planner and I am not even homeschooling yet.
#8 for the creativity; #16 for breaking it down & covering all areas.
I vote for #16. Thanks!
#14 is my favourite 🙂
#8 was by far the best. My kids wanted to watch it over and over!! They didn’t even ask about mine…:-(
Great job everyone!!
Jen B.
I liked #16.
These are all great and very creative. I think that #16 most clearly explains all that the planner has to offer though. I might just be sold. 🙂
#5 creates a well lovable, most possibly inspirational children’s story.
All(5) my kids sat around to listen to the story. They sat on their seats in anticipation. What they didn’t realize it was an ad till I told them.
Kuddos to #5!
#16 gets my vote!
#5 has my vote! Very creative!
I love #5!!
My vote is for #5!!
My vote is for # 16 it was easy to read, related well to moms and creative
My favorite is #5!
Voting for #5. Love it!!!
There are just way too many here… Can I get a few votes in one comment? Maybe for multiple people?
#1 – for my MI husband
#5 – for my fairy-tale-loving daughter
#16 – for the wanna-be me
#13 – for the real me – seeing as I have multiple personalities and all…
voting for #5. Love it!
I love #16 – I don’t even homeschool, but may buy the planner for the rest of the stuff.
The layout is pleasing to they eye and while it is creative (what’s on your plate?), the creativity does not distract from getting a clear, concise idea of what the product offers.
Number 5 is fabulous!
I love number 5!
My vote… #11, #7 and #16 in that order. If I only get to vote for one it would be #11, because I’m a “tweaker” too! LOL
Definitely #16. Great explanations, and I love the old-fashioned theme!
I vote #1
Loved the creativity of #5, though I can appreciate all of the work that went into all of them.
I vote for #4!
All of the ads were great and oh so creative.
I vote for #1, with #5 as runner up.
I vote for number 13–I love how she showed her family actually using the product! Number 8 is second–made us all laugh!
It was difficult to choose, but I vote for #5!
I vote for #3 and then #5!
WOW! All of these are AMAZING ads! But I would have to go with #13 as my first pic and #16 as my second. GREAT JOB TO ALL!!! Can’t wait to see who the “winners” are (of course everyone who submitted an ad is a winner in my book!).
All of the entries were very creative and some were humorous. Some were too long to read through and too fictional/unreal.
I loved entry #8 and #13.
#8 captures your attention!!
My vote is for #11, (though if voting more than once was allowed, #3 and #16 would get my votes, too!) While plenty of the others were very CREATIVE… those 3 are the one that made ME want to buy the planner.
I vote for # 16, love it!
I like number 10
My vote
1) #8
2) #2
3) #5
Boy do we have some creative folks on the CREW!
Wow this was hard! How in the world did you guys narrow this down to only 16?
My vote will have to be #5. I LOVE it. If we are allowed a second vote, I would do for #7. I really enjoyed reading all of these!
So many to choose from. All so very creative and unique in their own way. I’ll go with 16, then 1, 14, and 13 🙂 Great job ladies and gent.
I thought #7 looked the most like a real ad, professional looking.
It appealed to me the most!
Great job everyone!
I vote for #16.
I vote #9.
I vote for #5!!!
# 3
# 7
#16 was definately the best. It was very attractive and well-organized, easy to read, and if I wanted to review any points, they would be easy to find. I was ready to buy, and I don’t even have any kids!
#2 🙂 Love the kid shots!
Number 5, love it! Great job!
I’m voting for #1, but I’m a bit biased. 😉
All of the ads were very creative! But my vote goes to #3 🙂
My vote goes to #5 🙂
My vote is for #16. Love the theme and layout.
Boy, it’s a toss up, these are all really great ads! My favorites were 8 and 13…but I think going the extra mile with creating a video, I am going to have to say my number one is number 8!
Great job ladies, you are all SO creative!
My vote goes for #5.
I love #16. It’s light, bright, and very well organized. It speaks well to a type A personality such as my own. Great job!
#16 gets my vote. My mom and sister have those plates.
Excellent job everyone! My vote is #8. (I have to say 13 and 9 I also loved.)
#5
Number 8 gets my vote- very creative! I pretty much never make it through advertisements with too many words or ideas to follow, so Becky’s video was the perfect ad in my opinion.
They are – of course – all great, but I think my fave was #8. 😉
I think #16 did the best job letting people know what all is included in the Planner.

Voting for number 9
VOTING FOR # 9
My vote goes to number nine.
I vote # 9
Voting for number 9
MY VOTE IS FOR NUMBER 9
Wow there are some creative people out there. I loved the plates on #16. I have good memories from the plates. The text for that ad is well done. There are some designers that used a lot of card and scrapbooking touches. My vote goes to #16.
# 16
#14 – as I’m a queen of chaos too!
I like #16 – easy to read, and simple, yet very creative!
All of these ladies deserve and award. I really admire the creativity of these ads. If I have to pick I would chose #16, but is a close call. Great work ladies.
#5
I can’t choose which is my favorite … either number 7 or 16. 🙂
April E.
Wow! What a great bunch of ads. I pick #7 as my favorite!
#5 gets my vote!
I vote 16 because it looks the most like an ad, yet still is very, very creative. Plus, my grandma had those plates, too. 🙂 Great job, Julieanne!
#1 goes to #8
#2 goes to #3
#3 goes to #6
I’d vote for #1 in the top spot because I think the Mission Impossible theme is something all mom’s can relate to in this situation.
I love #5!
Voting for #5!
#8! Love it!!
Well done to them all – very creative! My vote goes to #5
have to vote for #5
I vote for #16, this was a great, creative site. Lots of work here for Julieanne. All the women here spent a lot of time creating. Good work, everyone!!
I really enjoyed #16. I loved in insight Julieanne gives and how to keep it fun for all.
Great Job!
Thank you so much for the informantion.
So fun! I vote for #5 🙂
