Every parent wants good books for their children to read, but it can be hard to find books with a solid Christian message that are also engaging, with excellent character development. Kinsey M. Rockett has set out to help meet that need by writing Christian fiction books that appeal to all ages.
The goal of Whatsoever Stories is to provide families with good, wholesome, Christian ficton books that honor God. Their theme verse is Philippians 4:8,
“Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Kinsey M. Rockett is a homeschool graduate. She had always loved good stories and began writing when she was eleven. She lives with her family in Eastern Washington.
Whatsoever Stories Books
So far, Whatsoever Stories offers three books. The most recent release, Farmyard Faith, is a collection of stories of the Rockett family’s experiences over the past ten years. Spiritual lessons are often drawn from these experiences, and many show how God used circumstances to help Kinsey grow in the Lord. Unlike her other two books, which are Christian Fiction books, this one contains true stories.
Kinsey’s first book was Trial at the Ridge. A family’s farm is threatened with foreclosure, and, after their father has an accident, two of the sons do what they can to save the farm. However, an unseen enemy and a ferocious predator work to thwart them at every turn. Reviewers say this is an “outstanding first book,” which “has family values and is wholesome” and safe for children to read. In the Christian Fiction Books category, Trial at the Ridge won the bronze medal from Illumination Book Awards in 2020 and was a finalist for the Selah Awards in 2018.
Prisoner of War tells a thrilling story of a daring escape attempt during World War II—but another rescuer is needed besides the human one to bring true freedom to men. Reviewers say this book “is compelling,” an exceptional novel with good character development, and masterfully crafted. The author’s website has a photo gallery of the airplane type from when this story is set. This book was a finalist in the 2020 Cascade Awards.
The Trial at the Ridge and Prisoner of War books contain some of the same characters at different stages of their lives but are not intended to be a series. All three of these Christian fiction books are available in Kindle and paperback on Amazon, paper and Nook on Barnes and Noble, paper from Books a Million, and paper from Book Depository.
Also, on Whatsoever Stories’ website is The Writer’s Block, a collection of short articles about writing. Kinsey has a heart for assisting young authors and has drafted these articles to share much of what she has learned along her own writing journey.
