Homeschool science labs can be an intimidating subject to teach as homeschoolers. Parents may feel overwhelmed or just not feel able to teach certain sciences. Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science may be able to help in these areas. The Homeschool Review Crew were given 12-month access to one of the homeschool science labs and are eager to share their reviews with you.
Greg Landry is a husband, homeschool father, and former college professor. He created these homeschool science labs to help other homeschooling families with teaching these sciences. He has a heart for science and students. He wants to teach students how God’s creation was not an accident. We were created for a purpose. He is a mentor to hundreds of students both past and present. His passion for Christ is seen throughout his entire life. His writing and words show how much he loves his Savior and how he wants to share God with others.
Members of the Homeschool Review Crew were given a few classes to choose from. The Virtual, interactive homeschool laboratory is geared toward students in grades 7-12. There are two options for this virtual laboratory: Option 1 is a two-week lab intensive with set dates for use or option 2 is a self-paced family subscription. These virtual laboratories have a few subjects to choose from such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
The second set of classes are the Self-paced 4th-7th grade one-semester classes. These are for students in upper elementary grades or junior high school. These classes allow you to work at your pace as they are recorded and can be accessed when you are ready. They include subjects you can choose such as:
- Young Scientist Anatomy & Physiology
- Young Scientist Biology
- Young Scientist Chemistry
- Young Scientist Physics
- Young Scientist Earth & Space Science
The final set of classes is Self-paced 7th-12th grade half-semester classes. These classes will be used for Junior and Senior high students. They will also allow for your child to work at his own pace while getting quality teaching. These classes include subjects like:
- Exercise & Sports Physiology
- Biochemistry / Microbiology
- Embryology / Endocrinology
- Earth & Space Science
- Study Skills / Measurement / Lab Reports / Graphing
Each of the self-paced classes includes a PDF of the book for the class, video teachings from Professor Landry, and access to ask him questions through email. The lessons themselves last for about 20-30 minutes and the number of lessons varies with each subject. Families can set up their own schedules based on time and availability. The only thing you will need to do on your end is set up a Canvas account. If you do not have one, you will be asked to create one. Canvas is the platform that the vendor uses for the classes and is required to have in order to use it.
