Over the past few years, The Crew and their families have been charmed by Andrea Carter. This plucky heroine first made her appearance in Circle C Beginnings. Later we got a little better acquainted with a more grown-up Andi in Circle C Milestones, all from Circle C Adventures.
Author Susan K. Marlow once again transports us back in time to 1880’s California in another Circle C book, Tales from the Circle C Ranch. This book is a collection of short stories that were inspired by fan questions.
What can you expect to find in this newest book? It is filled with stories that chronicle a few of Andi’s adventures from the time she is a young ‘un to those in-between years. Kids (ages 9-14) are not only treated with a peek into Andi’s world, but will be encouraged in their faith.
What kind of trouble does Andi stir up when she decides to discard her girlish pinafore for a pair of boys britches? What happens when Andi takes a trip to the high Sierras to help collect the Carter Christmas tree? And will Andi be able to teach her friend (once former enemy) Victoria to ride a horse?
All the stories provide a fascinating look into US and California History, as well as life on a ranch.
The Crew received not only a copy of Tales from the Circle C Ranch, but a download of Andrea Carter’s Tales from the Circle C Ranch Learning Lapbook. The lapbook covers all manner of topics related to the 1880’s, including the 1880’s General Store, California King Snakes and the Pacific Coast States.
