Do you like to incorporate movies into your homeschooling studies? It can be a great way to enhance your studies and really bring the subject to life for your students. But why just watch the movies when you can really dive into them and dig deeper with your students to find out more about the movie, the era, the characters, and so much more?
Zeezok Z-Guide to the Movies just might be what you are looking for. Zeezok has been around since 1993 serving the homeschool community and has just recently added Z-Guides. They are a comprehensive and interesting way to study movies.
Here is what each guide contains:
Each guide starts out with a topic overview. This overview provides the student with more information regarding the specific time period in which the movie is based. Next is a movie synopsis. The synopsis will assist the student in understanding what is going on in the movie and how relationships, situations, and events all relate together.
Each guide includes the historical setting, research skills, writing skills, hands-on activity, a worldview study, critical thinking skills, and family discussion questions. There is also a section called The Filmaker’s Art activity that helps the student recognize the tools being used to influence the viewer.
Each Z-Guide is specific to the movie used to write the Guide and is identified on the website. Zeezok also sells the movies for each Z-Guide. Prices vary on the movies so check the website for pricing.
