This article is in collaboration with Kregel Publishing.
In the past, the Homeschool Crew has been pleased to review several books by Kregel Publications, including the Circle C Adventure series by Susan Marlow. Recently, Susan has written a new line of Circle C books called the Circle C Beginnings. Based on the same characters you have come to know and love in the Circle C Adventures, these new books are geared toward 6-8 year olds, or those ready for early chapter books. They contain fabulous illustrations and fun storylines that your kids are sure to enjoy!
Here is a bit about each book in this series:
Andi’s Pony Trouble
Andi wants a horse of her own more than anything in the world, but her mother says she’s too young. Stuck with riding Coco, the hand-me-down pony, Andi sets out to show her family that she’s ready for a horse of her own.
Andi’s Indian Summer
Andi’s friend Riley shows her a scary old dime novel that sets Andi’s mind spinning with thoughts of being captured by Indians. But when she and Riley ride a little too far from the safety of the ranch, Andi discovers the truth about the natives living nearby.
Andi’s Fair Surprise
If Andi can’t take Taffy to the 1874 California State Fair and win a blue ribbon, she doesn’t want to go. But the fair turns out to be so exciting that Andi’s glad she came . . . until her brother tells her she can’t keep the prize she won fair and square!
Andi’s Scary School Days
Andi wants no part of school. School means being away from the ranch all day and sitting next to a boy who throws dead flies at her. Andi didn’t think she was afraid of anything—until now. Being sent to the corner for something she didn’t do is the last straw. Andi’s leaving. And she’s not going back.
Each book is approximately 80 pages long.
Two more books will be added to this series later this year – Andi’s Lonely Little Foal and Andi’s Circle C Christmas.

Special thanks to Crew Captain Heidi from Reviews & Reflections for writing this introductory article.
We reviewed Andi’s Indian Summer, and thoroughly enjoyed the book and the on-line activities. Unfortunately, my review was delayed. I was out-of-town Thursday through Sunday and experienced major computer problems while on the road. I am still not sure what happened, but the entire computer went black Friday night, and is still not working as it should. My apologies for the delay… my review is up now:

Hey, Heidi!
Thanks for the super-fantastic intro to the Crew sailing for the CCB. I loved reading all of the reviews this weekend and I tried to comment on as many as I could. It’s wet and cloudy and just not MAY out here. Hope your spring is better. May is my “break from homeschool conventions” month, so I’m on a little vacation.
Hugs,
Susan
