Help Me To Teach

The very first product that is available to our Crew is a 3-month membership to the Help Me To Teach website and a free (fall) issue of their e-newsletter.  The 3-month membership is valued at $15.95 and includes full access to the website.  Help me To Teach is a search engine specifically for homeschoolers, teachers, and students and contains TONS of free resources in almost every subject you could possibly think of.

I would encourage you to check out this website.  Check back here to our blog often, as Crew members will be posting links to their reviews over the next several weeks (deadline for reviews is set for November 12, 2008).

  • Nicole says: "I enjoyed this professional site. It’s perfect for homeschoolers who are on a budget. I really found this site to be well organized. It’s easy to find what I was looking for. I was interested in History and Foreign Language. I went right to the table of contents to find what I wanted. I also did a search for "German" since this is the Foreign Language we want to learn. I explored my interests and visited some links. The websites linked to from Help Me To Teach looked professional."

  • Tricia says: "So, my initial negative impression has been changed. While it is not really necessary for me the teacher to use this site for my own research, it has been incredibly helpful to have a safe place on the Internet to let my kids loose to research on their own, without me hovering in the background."

  • Jenifer says: "Elaine at HelpMe2Teach.com, has 40 years teaching experience. She has turned that experience into this wonderful site. It has over 2000 prescreened websites. All of them are safe and relevant. Each entry has a code, letting you know what age the site is geared for. There are 4 possible categories. P= Primary ( Pre-K – Grade 2) ,  E = Elementary (Grades 2-5), S= Secondary ( Grades 6-12)  and T= Teacher or Supervising Student.  What a huge help! You are not wasting time on sites that are not appropriate for your kids. Also, since these sites are pre-screened, you can feel comfortable allowing your children to search on this site!"

*It seems there is some confusion over Mr. Linky.  MR. LINKY IS FOR CREW MEMBERS ONLY – they are to post direct links to their reviews so that our readers can easily access them.
So, CREW MEMBERS ONLY, sign the Mr. Linky with a direct link to your review of Help Me To Teach below.  If there are any questions, please e-mail me.

  3. Elaine at HelpMe2Teach brought to my attention an incorrect statement in my review. I have corrected it, but thought I would mention it here for anyone who read the original post. It is technically a fundraising program, not an affiliate program, poor choice of words on my part…sorry for any confusion.-Susan A.

  4. I was trying to post a link to my review of TOS Magazine, but accidentally posted the link on the Mr. Linky for Help-Me-2-Teach. Sorry about that.

  7. I feel bad that I can't give it a glowing review because I really can see the potential for the site. For us, not so much – at least not now since almost all of our resources are based on information gathered through the library or internet versus a textbook. The searches I tried just didn't turn up the results I expected for it to work for us.

  8. Well, I managed to create a new blog, just for reviews… It's pretty bare-bones at the moment, but should serve the purpose. 🙂

  12. My review is up. Not 100% positive–I like it, but not enough to pay for it. :p I do hope some of the recommended changes will be made to the site because it has the potential to be really helpful!

  13. Some have said that helpme2teach did not meet their needs. For me, I loved it. I REALLY enjoyed this. I guess that goes to show you that the views on this crew are wide as whales and as varied as sea shells. Don't get off the boat you will find what you are looking for.

  14. I posted to both my personal and review blog, but shared my review blog in Mr. Linky.

I do believe that this web site could be of help to people. It may not be a fit for our family, but I know it could be a great tool for someone else. Hopefully the short review will be helpful enough that those interested will go and check it out themselves! And the promo is great. 🙂

  18. I've posted my review of Help Me 2 Teach. I don't think I will continue my subscription with the site, but hopefully my review will allow my readers to make their own assessment of the site.

  19. Oh Phooy. I posted this back at the beggining of Oct, but for some reason it is not here today. SO I reposted.

The thing I love about this site is the fact I do not have to weed through 10,000 different search answers that come up on my Google search. If you want information lets say on the human anatomy, it comes up with only those sites that would be appropriate for me.

  20. This is a search engine that is MUCH safer than the other mainstream ones. I could see this used by homeschool moms, especially newer ones.
