The Old Schoolhouse Magazine's Fall Promotion

I absolutely LOVE The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and I’m not just saying that because I work for them!    TOS is seriously, hands-down, the BEST homeschooling magazine that I have seen.  You can trust me on that because (1) I am a major researcher and I have checked them all out to compare (both for content and value), and (2) I thought these things about TOS long before I ever started working for them.  So, my job is just the icing on the cake.

You, too, can see for yourself just how wonderful TOS is by taking advantage of our awesome fall promotion.  You can get two years of the magazine, 6 fabulous physical gifts (no downloads!) worth over $120, plus the current issue of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine that is full of ideas for the new school year, so you start receiving your magazine in a flash!

It really is one of their best deals ever and you don’t want to miss out. In fact, they’ve got a really cute Homeschooling with Heart tote bag (valued at $13.95) for the first 1000 to subscribe. About half of them are gone, but you should still be able to get one if you hurry! (They will remove the info from the subscription page when the bags are all gone.) The total value is over $212, but you receive it all for only $39 – 50% off of cover price! Plus subscribers get their online monthly Teacher’s Toolbox which focuses on a different topic each month, giving you words of encouragement, hands-on teaching ideas, book recommendations, field trip ideas, and a bonus download item.

So, be honest – you want it, right?!  Christmas is almost coming and this would make a very nice "Merry Christmas to Me" gift for yourself.  You will look so sharp strutting around with this stylish totebag – I’m already making plans for all the places I want to take mine!  What’s that, you say?  You want to see the bag?  Here you go:

And just so you’re not just taking my word for it, I’ll set up the Mr. Linky below and our wonderful crew members can share links to their thoughts on TOS too.

Jolanthe says: "It is chocked full of great information for homeschoolers on such a variety of topics – a little something for everyone! There are always new products to check out and I have gleaned so much information from it – and I’ve only received 3 issues so far! Most definitely a motivator and encouragement for homeschooling families. I always look forward to receiving the Teacher’s Toolbox each month too – an added bonus with their magazine."

Isabelle says: "While I was investigating homeschooling back in winter 2006, I asked my husband to buy me a subscription to The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.    I wasn’t even homeschooling yet but I was preparing myself…   This magazine means so much for me that I can’t even find the words to describe it.   It’s full of interesting articles and projects to do with your children.    I was truly impressed with the quality of this magazine that at the first opportunity, I ordered some back issues to read."

Meredith says: "As a homeschooling parent, I take every opportunity I can to "teach" – regardless of what we’re doing:  painting, gardening, building, baking, cooking, walking, etc.  Life is full of teachable moments.  But, there are days when I am discouraged or frustrated … when I don’t always have the answer I’m looking for or feel I don’t have the time to devote to homeschooling that I want or need, or when I feel that I’m not giving my children all that they need to succeed.  I’m sure that we all have those moments.  But, it’s when I have these moments that I turn to a faithful friend of mine:  The Old Schoolhouse Magazine."

  1. The TOS magazine is AWESOME! I can't wait to get my free tote, too. I think homeschoolers should be able to show their pride in their occupations like teachers in other schools do. I'll be a proud carrier!

  2. We're just coming into our third year of homeschooling, so I wont claim I've read every magazine that's out there. With that said, I have come to enjoy my TOS as an integral part of my homeschooling and homekeeping life. They always bring a variety of uplifting messages and resources. The product reviews are fair. Most important to me, they treat everyone with dignity and respect. It is with TOS's clear direction of spirit and growth of mind that our family has chosen to take up the call to man this *crew*. We are looking forward to giving you all our very forthright opinions on the realistic applications of the products becoming available in the TOS store. So far it looks like it's going to be a great year, so make sure you come back often and check this page out [and of course link over to ours as well 🙂 ]. You are going to be glad you did!

  4. I'm new to the magazine — I subscribed after I read the free sample issue from 2007 that is available online. After I received the 2008 back to school issue, I understand why everyone recommends it–it is packed with info and resources!

  8. One of my favorite things about the TOS Magazine is having one on hand to share with someone considering homeschool for their family or to motivate a new homeschooler. Thank you for an amazing publication!

  9. TOS is so awesome! The tote bag is such a bonus with this fall promotion too. I posted this on a My Space bulletin, shared it with my homeschool group and here on the homeschool blogger.

  10. Heidi – I posted a review and the fall promotion information as my very first blog on my blog spot. http://dallenassociates.blogspot.com/

I also sent a very short message to our homeschool community yahoo group but I only included the link to the blog. I believe that the moderator will welcome the promotion and if she doesn't I'll let you know. I will be able to contact her for a signed release if you require that for this type of posting. The two I did for the application process went through and there were no negative reprecussions.

  11. After 15 years of homeschooling, I'm not easy impressed with a magazine. The Old Schoolhouse is the most substantial magazine I've ever read about homeschooling! Every homeschool parent deserves TOS!

  13. I've posted about this on my blog with a quick review of TOS. I also posted to our local LEAH's website which will go out to all the members of our group. TOS is a great magazine. I'm so happy I have a subscription.

  14. I don't have a blog but what I did do was share at yesterday's homeschool group meeting. I even took along some of my past issues to show them how valuable TOS magazine is. A few had seen the magazine before and agreed. Some others told me that they will be looking into their budgets and certainly making arrangements to add TOS to their lists.

  15. Unlike other publications I might pick up to puruse, TOS is one that I can go back to again and again.. Many thanks for a great quality product. I just wish I had subscribed sooner in my homeschool journey rather than almost 2 years into it.

  16. I personally subscribe to this magazine, and it is one of my favorites. Every issue is packed with information on the latest homeschool legislation, ideas for little ones who are often running underfoot, wonderful editorials, homeschool units, contests and more! When my issue arrives I pore over it for days, and then return to it again and again to check out the ads/specials and reread the information it contains. My issues are always dog-eared from bookmarking its pages.

I find TOS magazine an easy read in my already busy day, loaded with USABLE ideas and information, and just plain fun! I always feel encouraged in my walk with the Lord and my choice to home school after reading the articles and seeing what other families deal with in their lives. Give it a try!

  17. I just sent an email to my homeschool groups. I was away – so maybe this is too late? If not – I would enjoy a subscription to Old Schoolhouse. Mine is running out soon.

  18. I can't say enough good things about this magazine! It is the only magazine I subscribe to. I can't wait for it to come in the mail, and when it does I pour over every page! It is such and encouragement to me as a homeschooling mom, and is full of helpful news, guidance and information.

I just posted the link to my review in my blog!

  19. When I first started homeschooling, I subscribed to many different magazines looking for info, ideas and support. When I found TOS I was hooked. I no longer subscribe to any others because TOS has everything I need and am looking for in one subscription. I recommend TOS to all my homeschooling friends and new homeschoolers I meet.

  20. I so talk up this magazine to my fellow homeschoolers that I felt a little redundant putting this on my new group site and my blog that all my friends have. I have given copies to friends and got one a subscription. But, since it needed to be done, I did it!

  21. TOS covers everything we need to homeschool – inspiration, ideas, encouragement and helping us to remember the reason we are investing our lives into our families – to raise children for the glory of God!
