Positive Action for Christ Reviews

This article is in collaboration with Positive Action For Christ.

Positive Action For Christ began back in 1969 as a single ProTeen club that has expanded into a Publishing House specializing in Youth Curriculum for fundamental churches, as well as schools and homeschools.

The Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Crew is reviewing grades 1 through 6 of the School Curriculum from Positive Action For Christ in this first offering of reviews. Keep checking back because we will be reviewing the upper grades at a later date.

Here are the different levels we are reviewing with a brief description from the publisher.

1st Grade – Enjoying God’s Gifts – Emphasis will be on aspects of creation, our families, friends, possessions, Jesus Christ, and God’s care for us.

2nd Grade – Finding God’s Promises – The promises of God will be evident as the Israelites and their leader see both victory and tribulation as they learn to trust God.

3rd Grade – Growing With God – The lives of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Daniel have a lot to teach third graders about the rewards of living for God.

4th Grade – Building Life Castles – …students study the New Testament, focusing on the life of Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the life and writings of the Apostle Paul.

5th Grade – Possessing The Land – Beginning in Genesis, students will gain a much clearer perspective of how the stories of the Old Testament fit together into one pattern.

6th Grade – Winning The Race: students will learn how the principles of God’s Word can help them gain victory in the race of life.

Each grade is set up similarly, each with a Student and Teacher Manual. Quizzes begin with the 2nd grade study. The Teachers Manual for Grades 1-3 contains more of the content, as well as additional stories that help make points. In Grades 4-6 more of the content is in the Student Manual and also has a personal application question at the end of each lesson that the students are supposed to fill out, you can choose whether they share that or if it is going to be a personal entry.

The Student Manual is a colorful, consumable workbooks with 35 lessons that can easily be used for the entire school year.

The Teacher Manual comes in a loose leaf binder, and has a multitude of information to help with the lesson. First you have the answers to the workbook questions, then there are Target Truths, Teaching Strategy, Character Trait Activities, and a Quiz for each lesson.

Take some time and look around at the Positive Action For Christ website, there are sample downloads to get a better idea of each level.
