Math Tutor

I don’t know if I’m a “typical” homeschool mom (or even if there is such a thing), but math is definitely one of the subjects that I struggle to teach, even though I got good grades in math.  I’ll admit, it’s not my favorite subject, so I’m glad to have a close family member who is a former math teacher and can help fill-in-the-blanks when we need her to.  I’ve never checked into the cost of a tutor, but i’m sure it’s not cheap.  So, if you’re in need of a little extra help in the math department, you might want to check out Math Tutor.  Here is what their website says sets them apart from other math help programs:

You can view video samples of each of the Math Tutor programs by visiting their website.
  • Janet says:  “Wow!!! Any math program that can make Algebra 2 interesting and understandable to an 8 year old is amazing. Not only did Ryan LEARN how to graph a linear equation, he remembers it and is excited about it. He also asked me to buy some of the other ones for him to watch and learn for fun.”

  • Denise says: “Mr. Gibson carefully walks viewers through several sample problems, explaining everything in detail along the way. This step-by step approach leaves no room for misunderstanding or confusion. You not only learn how to solve the problem, but also understand why.”

  • Tammy says: “A private tutor can come into your home, as a 6 hour Math Tutor DVD, for the price of $26.99 (+ shipping). Even including the shipping, where can you hire a tutor for less than $10.00 an hour?”
Here’s what the rest of our Crew has to say about the math dvd’s.

  1. Dirty little secret: I hated math so much I married a math teacher's daughter :-). An hour with Math Tutor and I understood some concepts I couldn't grasp in high school or college algebra. Another hour and I think I can work basic word problems again. Now if I can get my hands on the video that teaches you how to make change… Math Tutor DVD is a GREAT program,
