Roman Town Educational App Review

Do you have middle school students who are interested in game-based learning? Do you look around at the many educational apps created for elementary school and wish that you could find educational apps for your middle school-aged child?

Members of the Schoolhouse Review Crew have had the opportunity to spend several weeks testing out Dig-It! Games and their social studies and critical thinking apps for middle grades students. Dig-It! Games is a company known for their commitment to making games that are both fun and educational, blending middle school math, science, social studies, and language arts into their apps and online games.

Mayan Mysteries is an online gaming adventure where your child is in search of the mysterious Ladrone and attempting to find the mythical city of Ich’aak. Along the way, your child will learn about Mayan pyramids, the Mayan calendar, and 8 real Maya cities, and will be exposed to over 200 different Mayan topics and solve over 25 puzzles as they work to complete the adventure. Members of the Crew also reviewed the Mayan Mysteries game in 2013.

roman town logoRoman Town is an iOS app that has Ladrone back on the loose and your child working to try and defeat her while exploring Pompeii. This game features ancient Roman games, information about the Romans’ daily life, and a chance to solve 35 different puzzles as your child tracks down Ladrone.
