Educating the WholeHearted Child (3rd Edition)
Newly revised and significantly expanded, Educating the WholeHearted Child is about much more than homeschooling; it is about life. It’s an approach that is based on sound biblical principles of nurture, discipleship, instruction, and learning and the Clarksons’ uncomplicated, common-sense take on life and learning will provide you with the tools you need to experience God’s abundant blessings for your family.
A great book spurs the imagination in childhood, inspires our dreams in adulthood, and nourishes the soul with depictions of life fully and courageously lived. Among the greatest gifts you can bequeath to a child are a love for reading and a passion for books. But how do you sort through the many thousands of books available to your children to find those that are worthwhile? Apologia has the answer. Keeping Read for the Heart close at hand is like having a children’s librarian for a best friend! Let Sarah Clarkson be your guide to the best in children’s literature for your family. From timeless classics to modern favorites, from picture books to adventure novels to read-aloud favorites, more than 1,000 wonderful stories for young people are recommended within these pages. Now you can make great literature a lasting part of your child’s life and education.
The second winner will receive a bundle of books that includes Journeys of Faithfulness by Sarah Clarkson and Seasons of a Mother’s Heart by Sally Clarkson . . .
A wonderful gift for mothers and their daughters! Sarah Clarkson challenges young women to reach higher and go deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ by exploring the spiritual journeys of biblical women whose faith moves and inspires us even today. Celebrate the beauty, sacrifice, and courage that made these women the heroines they are with this collection of inspirational stories and devotions. Through the journeys of Ruth, Esther, Mary, and others, learn how God can reach into the life of an ordinary girl who loves Him and bring His beauty and grace to bear in the world through her obedience. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Sally Clarkson opens her heart within the pages of this timeless classic, sharing what she has learned as a homeschooling wife and mother— about herself, her children, and her Lord. Revised and expanded for today’s moms, Seasons of a Mother’s Heart includes four all-new “ten years later” essays by Sally, one for each season of a family’s life, from the renewal of spring and the response of summer to the resolve of fall and the reflection of winter.

I mostly read blogs for my homeschool encouragement. I don’t know that I’ve found a really inspiring homeschool book as of yet. Been meaning to get my hands on Charlotte mason as I’ve read a lot about that approach to homeschooling. These books look great!
This is my first year homeschooling and I haven’t found a wonderful book yet, but I’m getting a lot of great advice from parents who have traveled this homeschooling road before.
I haven’t found one yet that I love. Still looking.
Nice group of books
I would say Educating the Whole-Hearted Child.
“Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit”
Not sure what is my fav. homeschooling book. I have read and got so much from so many.

I guess my favorite book so far ( I haven’t read many as I’m just starting) is the one by Jim Bob and Michelle Dugger. I love their organization tips and curriculum advice as well as seeing how they manage it all.
Educating the Whole hearted Child
Cant spell last name LOL it is Christina Gray
My favorite book is Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe – anytime I begin to get the comparison blues I pull out that book and remind myself that God’s got this and not to worry, compare or overdo.
I have been wanting to read these for a while!
I am new to homechooling…. I don’t have one yet
I just want to say I LOVE Apoloigia. Ive been HSing for 27 yrs and just love your books.
I’ve been looking for a new book to rekindle my old love of homeschooling. Life has thrown my family a lot of curve balls and to be honest I’ve been really struggling these lest few years, especially when it comes to homeschooling. I’ve even looked into other options but I simply cannot afford Christian school tuition for my children.
Educating the whole hearted Child has been a book I’ve been wanting for a while now but I can’t ever seem to get together the money to buy it.
I don’t have a favorite homeschooling book. I get all of my ideas and inspiration from blogs and forums! But I’d still love to win.

I haven’t found a book that inspired me as much as reading Carol Barnier’s blog on SizzleBop.com. I have several “sizzlers” and she totally gets my kids and helps me to understand them too.
I haven’t found a book, per se, that really inspires me about homeschooling. I read a lot of blogs to feel encouraged. And the Bible.
I’ve never used Apologia, but have always wanted to. Everything I’ve read looks great. We use My Father’s World and Apologia would fit in nicely. Thanks!
I am just starting so I’m still looking.
The Bible is my favorite Homeschool inspiration book. And I also love reading Blogs from other “normal” mothers like myself. :o)
Love in a Time of Homeschooling by Laura Brodie. it’s a novel but it gave me a glimpse of what homeschooling could look like and motivated me to continue to look into it.
The Bible.
The Bible was the first book that inspired me to homeschool.
A biblical home education and the well trained mind are my two favorite homeschool books.
i don’t have a favorite. I read all I can get my hands on and a lot about dyslexia!
This year I read Free Range Learning and although I don’t agree with everything in it, there were some great ideas that inspired me.
Definitely the Bible 🙂
A Well Trained Mind!
Educating the Wholehearted Child!
The Bible, Homeschooling the Challenging Child and Cathy Duffy’s Top picks – I’m a practical sort of gal! 🙂

Educating the Wholehearted Child. This actually reminds me I should reread it.
I like the well trained mind. But I am always looking for any inspiration I can find
Educating the whole hearted child and the well trained mind have both been very helpful to me
My favorite homeschooling book… it’s a tie between Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Ted Tripp and Educating the WholeHearted Child by the Clarkson’s.
This is my first year of homeschooling and I haven’t read any homeschooling inspiration books yet. I am in the need of reading one soon though!
