Soli Deo Gloria Resources

Do you homeschool your children because you want THEM to go out there and succeed in the business world or become become doctors or lawyers? Do want them to be smarter than others so that YOU look good as a homeschooling parent. Kim Kargbo from Soli Deo Gloria Resources believes that, as a parent, you should be educating your child for God’s glory alone so they can go out in the world and use their gifts for the good of others. Soli Deo Gloria Resources prides itself with providing homeschooling families with quality unit studies and other curricula that will inspire students to understand God’s bigger picture. Subjects range from Bible studies, history/geography to science and all allow your child to study these areas from a Biblical perspective. Kim Kargbo, homeschooling mother and author of the unit studies available at Soli Deo Gloria Resources graciously provide TOS Crew member with one of three unit studies to use with their families.

Map Skills Unit Study

This study is geared towards students in grade K-3rd and will introduce basic geography and map skills. With an abundance hands on activities, crafts, games, worksheets and more, your child will:

“1) Students will learn basic directional skills.
2) Students will demonstrate basic map reading skills at a level appropriate to their age and learning level.
3) The mention of “direction” (both map directions and direction for life) in the Bible will be correlated and discussed.
4) Students will demonstrate appropriate language skills related to map reading, directionality and basic geography.”

This unit study can easily be modified to use with older students or those that do not have a strong foundation in map skills.

William Tyndale Unit Study

In this mini unit study (great for a family new to the idea of unit studies), your family will be introduced to William Tyndale, who was passionate about translating the Bible into English though this work was strictly forbidden in his time. This unit study is geared to be multi-level making it appropriate for the whole family and covers all topic areas (excluding math) so can be used exclusively (it’s a week long study) or as a filler with your normal curriculum. Your student will study the life of William Tyndale and the political and social atmosphere of that time period.

Young Hearts Longing for God Bible Study in the Psalms

This Bible study workbook will lead your 4th-8th grader (though both older and younger children can benefit from this study) through the book of Psalms. 30 lessons will lead your child on an in depth study of 30 Psalms/parts of Psalms. With questions and journal work guiding your child, he will look at Psalms in a way that will not only teach him the meanings of these verses but also how to apply them in his own life.

  1. My daughter enjoyed doing the Psalms study! I want to encourage her to read and study the Bible on her own, and this study helped her to move in that direction.
